Just a thought..if the government here brings in the vaccine passport for travel to Spain, will this be for visitors from ALL countries? If so, how can it be policed with Europeans driving in when there are many different routes across the borders? It's a bit of a worry when the chances of us here being vaccinated soon are quite remote should this not be the case.

I dont think Spain can reasonably bring in a vaccination passport until it's got it own house in order with vaccinations.

Sanchez stated quite clearly no tourists until 70% of the population of Spain has been vaccinated, we are a long way off that at present.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

They could still be carriers and transmit the disease. The full impact of the vaccines on transmission is still uncertain.

The whole thing is meaningless anyway as the EU blocs vaccination roll out is an utter shambles, none of us in the EU are going anywhere for months maybe the rest of 2021, Italy have started yet another lockdown due to the rise in cases and deaths.

I think you will find that the 70% figure has been revised down to about 30-40% as the Spanish government know it is not going to achieve the higher figure and they desperately need the foreign income from holiday makers and visitors

With the rapid UK vaccine rollout and with Cyprus, Greece (and probably Spain shortly) fighting for our trade and allowing us in from May, I am hoping mechanisms will be in place to allow me get to my Spanish home this summer.

As only 2.8% of the population of Spain has been fully vaccinated as of 11th March ( source El Pais) even the 30%-40% is looking doubtful.
