Hi, Please could anyone advice where we should go to change our car registration. We have a new Padron for Almoradi but do not know where the nearest "Traffico" (think this is the department we need to go to) is. Please help? Thanks Heather Stobbs

Hi have you changed the headlights also are your tyres the right speed rating. If this is in order it has to go to the ITV station and ideally you need to speak Spanish, then you go to Traffico there's one in Elche.

If you don't speak the lingo it may be advisable to engage one of the advertised agents to help you. It's a lot of twoing and froing . You need the Bill of sale when you purchased it. Also a big wedge of money.

I thought the OP was talking about changing the address of the vehicle. If that's not the case, and it's a UK registered car, then look at:

Go to your nearest Gestor.  I use one in Crevillent, the cost will be about 40 euros I guess, but at least you do not have to go to that hell hole of a Traffico in Alicante.....  If you need their address just email me.

Best of luck

Richard

It would probably also be a good idea to have a look at the N332 site for anything to do with driving in Spain.   It is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code.

Hi Jim, thanks so much for the info. The other replies do not apply as you quite right all we are doing is changing the address. We have been in Spain for a couple of years and car is registered and all up to date with ITV etc only now need to change address as we moved from Albatera to Almoradi. We will be off to the Almoradi Town Hall on Tuesday to follow your advice. Thanks again Heather Stobbs

Hi, thanks but do not need  Gestor, simply changing our address and not re-registering. We moved from Albatera to Almoradi and car is all correctly registered and up to date with ITV etc. Will be going to the Town Hall in Almoradi who handle the change of address now. Thanks again Heather
