I am buying a property in Almoradi and would really appreciate some information on the following.

Is there a direct bus to the beach?  If so, how long does it take and how often are they?

What is the centre like? pubs. shops etc.

What is the crime rate like?  I believe it has gone up in some towns and villages.

What is it like out of season?

I would really be grateful for nay information you may have.  Please send ASAP.

The Agostense bus from Orihuela to Guardamar goes through Almoradi:

http://agostense.es/horarios/?from=Almorad%C3%AD&to=Guardamar&period=0

Just click the drop-down arrow for times.

It's a nice town, and the crime rate isn't as bad as on the coastal strip. Buzzing on Saturdays throughout the year due to the market.

Other days it's nice and peaceful.

Plenty of bars and restaurants, and most of the shops you'll need, although you'd need to go elsewhere if you want department stores or big-name shops.

Thank you so much for this information, it has been so useful.  Would you recommend any particular bar/pub?  My husband loves his craft beers, pretty much doubt there will be any but it would be a lovely surprise if I could take him to one.

Ouch! I don't drink beer, so can only hope someone else can help you.

There are several British bars all in the centre of town, of which our favourite is Cafe Vienna (stand in the square with your back to the church, and it's the second bar on the left on the road going off the far side of the square. You can get delicacies like square sausage, and haggis butties. Give my regards to Heather and Derek if you go in.

Cafe Almoradi have draft cask ales, if that's similar. They're in Calle Mayor opposite the Medical Centre.

Are there any issues in Almoradi? I don't mean to sound insensitive but when I was over in noticed a lot of Morrocan people in the town.  Does this cause a problem or does everyone just live side by side.

I don't think there are any issues at all.

There are a lot of moros everywhere I look, and in the main they keep to themselves - no problem at all, but they do seem to think they own the road; I always get a nasty look when I drive past two moros and prams taking up the road in Rafal.

Some of the younger ones are actually very nice when you talk to them. I think they're used to being ignored by Spaniards, and appreciate being treated as normal human beings by people like myself

Thank you. So are there Morrocans living in every town now? We have about 1pm families in the apartment block. I don't have an issue with this but do have an issue with them not paying community charges. Is this the norm?
