As Non Residents you do not have to make regular payments into your Bank account but pay around 30 Euros per Quarter in fees. After getting Residencia you should ask you Bank to change your account to an account for Residents. Our Bank is Sabadell and the account is called an Expansion Account and has no fees. I would suggest you speak to them regarding the crediting of 700 Euros as you say you would have a good sum in savings. Before we got our works pensions ( we are not state pension age yet ) paid into the account the Bank we simply lifted the 700 Euros from the Bank's ATM and went into the Bank to deposit the same amount back into the account, we had already asked in the Bank and were told this was okay. Nw the pensions are paid in we have no need to do anything.
