Life in Almoradi
Hi All,
We are thinking abut buying in Almoradi and was wondering what the community is like there, we do not speak Spanish but will learn the basics and our move will be permanent.
Many Thanks for any assistance.

I moved into the area a few months ago so don't really know a lot. The people seem to be friendly.
Parking is anywhere without yellow lines or blocking an exit/entrance. Drive slowly as right of way can be a bit vague at times.
Next to the church in the centre of town (Plaza de la Constitucion) is a helpful tourist office. A minute's walk from there across the square is the Town Hall where you can eventually get a padron, Some English spoken.
I used TELFY, a little walk from the information office in the opposite direction, for internet. I had cheap fibre in just a few days. Orange was a nightmare.
Lots of food shops throughout town as well as a big street market over the central area of town on Saturdays. Closes early afternoon. Most places shut Sundays.
My one complaint is the people love fireworks, especially NOISY ones. I fortunately do not live near the central area as that can be noisy at night when there is some celebration. There was one for two saints some weeks ago and it was as noisy as a rave for a week, at night.
No multinational shops. Endless little shops and you find them by walking and walking (driving while shopping can be dangerous). There are shops selling all sorts of goods, furniture, etc on the road to the 737 exit of the AP7 road past the town.
I needed a dentist and Dr Manuel Marco Torres, just past Telfy, one floor up, was very good.
Hi Jim and Magda we have lived in Almoradi for 4 years. We are so glad we stumbled across this town. As Kaneda says there are numerous supermarkets and shops many plazas and parks. There is a limited bus service to other towns but one of the best is to Guardamar de Segura where you can enjoy the beach and a wander round the town.
You don't say your ages but as hubby and I are both in our sixties one of the big benefits is Almoradi is very flat so easier walking for these old knees.
The medical centre often gets bad reviews as they are dreadful at answering the phone but the care we have received has been excellent.
I go to Spanish lessons in the nearby town of Las Heredades where Marien teaches all levels from beginners to advanced.
If you decide Almoradi is for you message for a meet up or for any other information.
Best wishes Kath

Thanks Kath, I am in my 60's wife almost there. Will give you a shout if we decide Almoradi is for us.
Thanks
