Hi  Pre booked  holiday to Benidorm in August home a few days then flying to Lanzarote. Do I have to quarantine between each holiday? Or does it not apply because it’s spain?
thanks jackie

Hi Jackie

Can’t quite answer that, but I would say that needing to quarantine is about what the U.K. require you to do, nothing to do with Spain.

So, if you are required to quarantine after your first trip, nor sure how travelling overseas again so soon would fit with that. You’d certainly have to quarantine after the second trip. Something of an anomaly🤪🥂

I don't think you can do both. UK rules state that on your return from Spain you have to self isolate for 14 days and I can't see this covering travelling to an airport, getting on a plane and going somewhere else, even if it is still Spain..
It's one or the other.

Hi, at present there are no restrictions to travel from one area of Spain to another. However the UK restrictions  demand that once you arrive back in the UK from being in Spain you will need to quarantine for 14 days, if however you land at an UK airport and take another flight to another part of Spain, this is allowed.

If however there is a few weeks break between trips then I would surmise that the UK rules would require you to quarantine after each trip. Though saying this, a friend of mine arrived back in the UK from Spain at the beginning of the quarantine restrictions and after only 5 days into his quarantine he was allowed to fly out to another country which was on the quarantine list.

Hope you enjoy you holiday

I know 🤷‍♀️I’ve asked the question here and the answer is if Spain will let you then it’s ok but it doesn’t feel ok. Don’t want to be responsible for potentially passing anything on

Decision made not going on one of them

Thanks

Jackie

I’m in Benidorm now 17/8/20 and I’m going home to England on 20th , 8 days of quarantine then 6 days in Ibiza and back to Benidorm so I think it’s healthier here in Spain than England and stuff the 14 days qua

Hi Jeff thanks for the response

I have decided due to quarantine rules not to travel to either destination . I do think spain is safe just don’t want to end up on the wring side of the very clear rules we have !!

Coronavirus (COVID-19): how to self-isolate when you travel to the UK

When you arrive in the UK, you will not be allowed to leave the place where you’re staying for the first 14 days you’re in the UK (known as ‘self-isolating’) unless you’re arriving from an exempt country.

This is because it can take up to 14 days for coronavirus symptoms to appear. If you’re travelling to the UK for less than 14 days, you will be expected to self-isolate for the length of your stay.

If you’re travelling from an exempt country you will not need to self-isolate. You should check the list of exempt countries before you travel. If you travel from an exempt country but have been in a country that is not exempt within the last 14 days, you will need to self-isolate for the remainder of the 14 days since you were last in a non-exempt country.

Thank you I think the best thing to do is not to travel

Better to be safe

Hi yes you have to do the 14 days quarantine in the UK before you can leave your property again.
