Hi there
We always hire a car to get to Altea but now that we have a house in Altea think we might have a week without one. Does anyone know how to get to and from Altea. Moreover, how often are buses/trams and where from? I’ve looked and the buses don’t seem often. We would maybe travel by bus or tram to Benidorm then taxi? Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi Pete, Benidorm Connect https://www.beniconnect.com/ run a service from the airport to Altea, friends of ours have used them and the cost is about 65 euro for two, return trip. Once in Altea travel to other local towns can either be done by tram or bus. The tram to Benidorm is every hour and only takes 20 min. The number 10 bus is about every 15 min, however it goes the long route through Al'faz and takes about an hour.

Less comfortable but cheaper: bus 10 to Benidorm Centre and from there ALSA bus directly to Alicante airport.
