Hello Jamie

Are you registered on the Spanish Healthcare system with an S1/ SIP card or are paying for PHI  - Private Health Insurance ?

Cheers

Hello

I asked those questions because ,in those 2  situations, your access to a Doctor is completely different.

If you register in the Spanish Health System with an S1 form then you will be allocated a Doctor at your nearest Health Centre you wont have a choice. If you have private health care in place then the choice is yours contact the hospital covered by your insurance, if you just need a one off walk in appointment go to your nearest private health clinic.

The previous poster was only trying to get an idea of what your situation is to give you correct advice.

Hi from BrianAltea75

My wife and I recently moved into Altea and are about to register at the public health centre. Is there anyone who knows if there are English speaking doctors at the centre.

Best wishes

I would imagine your best option is to ask at the health centre. However, you won't necessarily be registered with an English speaking doctor if one is available.

Hello

Providing  your paperwork (S1) is registered  with the INSS and  everything else is in order, you will be allocated a Dr at your local salud. If your Dr is not English speaking you will be asked to bring a translator with you for appointments

Cheers
