If its brand new, why does it need regassing?

I meant it needs gazing for the first time.

A new aircon unit usually comes pre gassed.

Not really. It’s against health and safety.

They come pre charged up to 5m. Some up to 10m. Nothing to do with health and safety. Its precharged by the factory in the outdoor unit.

It will say in the installation manual if it is pre charged or not, what brand of unit is it, if it is a cheap bargain basement one it may be uncharged due to costs

I’m asking for an engineer. Nothing else. My husband bought a brand new aircon uniit in BRICO, installed it. But he couldn’t fill it with gas because we don’t have a machine do it.

Sorry if you feel like I was ganging up on you. I was trying to point out that most units sold come pre charged. You may not have known and that would save you getting an aircon engineer. Problem is not many, if any will charge a new unit that they have not fitted, becausecthey then become responsible for the installation. I m speaking as a gas safe engineer and we would not commission a gas boiler that we did not fit.
