No claims protection car insurance

Hi, we are getting quotes for car insurance and nowhere on the quote does it mention 'No claims protection' and when we speak to the companies they say it doesn't work the same as UK, couldn't really understand the explanation given. Can anybody please help by explaining how it does work on Spain. Thanks 😊

What they mean is if you have to claim it doesn’t affect your next renewal.

In Spain you insure the car not the person, so that’s why there is usually no no claims protection
