Looks like not all bills are going up.

This ... received today from Iberdrola ...


"For your peace of mind, in light of the news that has emerged in recent days regarding the increase in electricity prices, we want to remind you that these increases do not affect the Plan that you have contracted with Iberdrola Clientes. For any questions, we are at your disposal in any of our usual service channels. Thank you for trusting Iberdrola."

Thank heavens for that!  I read that it was a 35% increase for the first week of January, because of low output from wind farms, but the final increase wouldn't be known until the end of the month, when it may average out lower.  On that basis, I assumed it was referring to the wholesale price, rather than end user, but the article I read certainly didn't make that clear.

Thanks Andrew.  I expect some increase to be passed to the consumer, but I hope it's not as much as 35%?  My early February bill will cover the whole of January, so I'll be interested to see how it compares to the same period last year.
