BBVA Bank
Hi
Has anyone any advise on BBVA Bank in Spain, if they charge monthly fees, transferring to them etc? I am currently with Sabadell with monthly charges of 35.00 euros.
Thanks
Sharon

Hello
You should use their online account which suffers no fees nor restrictions on inputs. They also offer to transfer all necessary items from your old bank to themselves (although somewhat earlier this did not work for me against Santander)
Their English language website is quite reasonable. You have to join using on-line only but they do allow use of face to face meeting within a local branch, if you have one, for awkward matters if arising.
The bank tends to be slow in certain actions, but patience gives its own reward.

Your comment may well be true, for non-residents. The OP indicated resident. I addressed my remarks to the OP.
I would be interested in why your assessment of BBVA is so poor.
The disadvantage of having no access face to face with online banks who have no branches seems somewhat off putting. I have been a customer of several large banks here in Spain during my 25 years of full time residence (and ten previous years as a swallow) and over time rejected them all bar the current incumbent. I am strict with my bank(s) and would recommend similar diligence for all. I am also quite content with TransferWise (so far), but where necessary I can pop up the road here and bang the desk if anything troubles me at BBVA. So far so good!

Hiya
My Mother used BBVA for 20 years and I am now using them, we are non residents based in the UK. We have not suffered any monthly charges or the exorbitant charges of Bankia who I have a small mortgage with. The online banking is useful to as I can see my account and transfer as necessary.
Our Branch is at Punta Prima and although they can be slow as its a 2 person show mostly, they are quite helpful and not expensive to use.
Hope this is helpful

Hi Marcbernard
My charges for the last year was 180 eur which i find unacceptable (non resident)
as i said previously im looking to move once i become resident ( waiting for card although ive been told i am now officially a resident )
when i first came over here my branch was in Torre3vieja but i mainly used the Punta Prima branch and they were very good
i have moved a couple of times and have returned to use the torrevieja branch where they dont respond to emails, msgs
that is my opinion of BBva
I got an appointment with my advisor and all she wanted to do was sell insurance, investment and said that if i wanted to avoid charges then maybe go to another bank !!!!
