Is it possible to travel from Ireland to Torreveija next weekend. Our cousin moved there recently. He rented a villa and we'd be staying there. Kind comments/feedback appreciated...😊

I have attached the link for Irish government website for travel to Spain.

Up until 24th jan you can travel but require a PCR test-it May change on 24th but unlikely due to Ireland’s infection rates. This information is based on your location being Republic of Ireland for the 14 days prior to travelling(if travelling from Northern Ireland further restrictions apply and currently prohibited unless Spanish resident)

Hope this helps but keep checking website as it can change

Ps you must fly into Alicante airport as border restrictions apply to all other aurports

I'm not sure how travel insurance works in relation to Ireland but I know there were issues for people in the UK if they were to travel against Foreign Office advice.

The Ireland non-country specific travel advice is here:

The Irish Government continues to strongly advise against all non-essential travel overseas.

Spain are only allowing Spanish Nationals and residents with their Green A4 residencia sheet or the new TIE card entry at the moment. This was recently extended to the 2nd February.  Therefore I believe the airline are not supposed to let you board, or if you do get to Spain, they refuse entry and send you home.  A poster on the forum advised recently that this happened to them.

Cheers Sharon

Friend of mine flew out Dublin/Malaga last Tuesday. His wife flys out tomorrow.

Require a negative test <72hr before flight.

No issues at present.

Ireland is in Lockdown . It has the highest rate of infection in the world. I think you are not supposed to travel more than 5 k from home

Spain is on the edge of another major full lockdown .. most places are already on curfews, restricted hours , restricted capacity.  Numbers are spiralling, hospitals on edge of full capacity.  Now is really not the best time to be having a vacation .
