Hello Pauline,
Well currently under UK law you cannot leave the UK unless you are a Spanish
national or have residencia in Spain.
You cannot go anywhere unless you have a legitimate reason such as work, essential
medical visit to a relative maybe.
If you are not a Spanish National or hold
residencia, you cannot currently go.
Don’t forget you need to have a negative
PCR test upto 72 hrs before departure to
Spain as well as completing Spanish health
questionnaire, which you do on line as a locator form.
Hi to the link below, it tells you all you need
to know about the current regulations today.
Hope it helps

Unfortunately, owning a property in Spain grants you no rights or privileges with regard to travelling under Covid conditions.

Hi Pauline,
As the UK is on Spain's list of countries from which travel is banned, only Spanish nationals and Spanish residents are currently allowed entry. The country's current State of Alarm is scheduled to last until 9 May 2021, but as the UK's vaccination programme is progressing very well, fingers-crossed Spain will lift the UK ban sooner than that.
Kind regards,
Kim

Yes I think this also.
There are two issues here with two
governments with slightly different rules.
It will improve once there are more people vaccinated we will see travel arrangements
improve.
The long tunnel is getting shorter.

Spain would have to be also on a certain vaccination level to do that because being vaccinated doesn't mean one cannot be a carrier of the virus. One can still be carrier, but not affected as in they won't be ill from the virus.
Vaccination protects the vaccinated but not the unvaccinated ones around them

Hi ujuudaghea,
I don't know the Spanish government's view of the UK vaccine programme - the numbers look impressive, but we have to bear in mind that 16m people vaccinated so far is only the first dose. The total number of UK people who have been fully vaccinated with both doses is far less impressive.
Research has started to try and identify whether vaccinated people are less able to spread the virus, but it's early days:

I believe the "Track and Trace" component of the fight against Covid-19 has always been the weak link. Not only is this important, as you've suggested, to capture asymptomatic people, but as the vaccine hasn't been made mandatory, there will always be a (hopefully small) proportion of people who refuse the vaccine and we'll have no idea of their disease 'status'.
Stay safe,
Kim

It looks like the 17th May will be the earliest possible time to travel subject to local conditions. I've booked flights for the 18th May, so keeping fingers and toes crossed.
