I have a small fireplace: 60 W 50 H 43 D.  A small insert burner would be nice. I had a look in Leroy but they say the space I have available is too small, I see burners in Ambifuego, but they seem to start at around 700 or 800 Euro which is pricy. Any suggestions?

Just wanted to mention, I dropped into Ambience in Quesada. The basic cost of a wood burner  starts at 1700. Am I crazy to think this is quite expensive?   I see some on Bricodepot that seem a lot cheaper, the add'l cost will be installation. Finding it hard to locate a small stove or company that supplies them. Any suggestions?

I found a nice one in Leroy Merlins for   under 300 euros but they wanted to charge me 1800 euros to install it so I didn't bother as that's astronomical.

Thanks for the replies.  I dropped into Leroys and to AKI (I know same place) and they hadn't got a fire that would fit. They said my fireplace was too small. It's not that small, AMBIENCE had said I might remove the hearth and open it up.   This would probably work.  I do 'get' that the costs are one-off and the savings long term, but I have to say, it ain't cheap, and I thought I might find cheaper alternatives.

Jayne, just to say, I love your stove. That's exactly what I want, and the surround/fireplace is  very like mine.
