Is there a proper 'U' bend under that drain, nothing should get by it if there is.

Same tiles as my shower cubicle BTW!

Hi Caroline, the problem could be down to a break in the waste pipe,  or a faulty  waste pipe seal below the shower trap / tray, allowing used shower water to leak out and sit under the shower tray.

Thanks for replying, God knows what's under there ,"I think the bloody devil with super bad breath ,I was in England and told the builder what I wanted ,with OUR super good taste in tiles 😉 clearly , (Movingon) I came out it all looks the singing & dancing and all that , then hey presto "the devil's breath comes and attacks attacks . To be fair it's the little things that make you feel your not really living the dream. I feel like I need to be back home on the London underground with someones foul armpits in my face . That's how this bathroom making me feel . Oh well 50litres of bleach , caustic soda, and drain unblocker till the plumber man comes . 😭😭😭😭😭

While waiting for the plumber why not try blocking the waste pipe to prevent the smell coming in from the drains.

We had the same problem. We located it to the sink so we bought a new u bend and it's fixed now. To locate the smell we blocked the drains to the toilet, tub, and sink and unblocked one at a time. If the u bend is just the tiniest bit loose it will stink. It used to wake me up at night. I feel your pain.

Thanks for getting back, you know what I'm just assuming it's coming from the shower area, as it's so bad ,you just want to run and hide, yes and it's waking me up in the night  to .but I have been treating the toilet ,sink ,shower. " Forget my annual leave I'm running from the devil's breath .

We have the same shower base and drain fitting.

We have no smell, so I think your drain fitting is damaged.

The fitting is a minimal depth type, with an annular trap.

The problem is due to the fact that Spanish plumbers are generally useless!  They connect the toilet to the drain by heating the plastic drain  pipe and sticking the toilet into it - it leaks!

The answer to your problem is to get some sealant and run it around the base of the toilet where it meets the floor and into any open screw holes.  Takes 5 minutes, costs about 8 euros for sealant - job done!

Kind regards

Richard
