Our solicitor obtained 2 new padrons for us at a cost of 30€ each.

Today we had the first appointment in Alicante for the TIE's,but just found out I have been given mine back, but my husband hasn't?

My query is...each Padron is exactly the same, with both our names on,so do we have to have a separate one each anyway?

I would like the missing one back,as we have just paid 30€ for it.

Bad mistake on the part of the Alicante office.

You can have a padrón for the whole household or an individual one. You can get new certificates from the town hall and they are free. The money you paid was for your solicitor's service. I don't know if they keep a padrón on file when you apply for a tie but that might be the case. Anyway, you can get more from the town hall:

Do you mind telling us how long it took to get the tie appointment?

We are getting the TIE through an agent.

Well worth the money, especially as there are two separate visits to Alicante.

It took her around three weeks to get the first appointment.

She will take us back to Alicante in 5 weeks to collect them.

Our solicitor got the padrons for us as the Padron office was closed for Covid.

Our Agent said we should have been given both padrons back.

They take copies of them, and return to you,but only found out when we got home,we had only been give the one.

The agent is ringing tomorrow to see what we cab do about it? (Can,I'm having real trouble putting posts on here)

Hoping they will put it in the post?

Our solicitor got the padrons for us as the Padron office was closed for Covid.

The last time I visited the Padron office in Torrevieja the official printed out 2 copies for me, I enquired why there was not a official stamp on the Padron and I was informed this was not necessary as there is now a bar-code running down the side of the Padron, my historical Padrons were always stamped, the official then informed me that it was easier for persons to photo copy more for personal use if needed and having the bar-code made it easier to copy than a stamped document. So personally I wouldn’t loose sleep over loosing a copy, just print another one, as you say they were identical. As for the Padron office being closed for Covid, I am sure the only time recently was for Christmas and new year and that being because no appointments could be made from around 22nd December to 7th January, but having a digital certificate would help as I am on the understanding the Padron could be done on-line and no attendance necessary, that’s where I believe your solicitor may have got your Padrons downloaded and printed and charged you 30 Euro each, I hope all goes well with exchanging your old Residencia for the new TIE card.

Hi

We have both our names on a single padron.

When we went for TIE, we were told we would need one each simply because we would be dealt with at the same time but by different staff. We simply took a photocopy of the original. As somebody has already said, if the barcode is readable there is no problem.

Cheers

Steve

Thank you.

Alicante office make up their own rules.

We know someone who was turned away as they only had a photo copy.

We would just like to have the padron that we paid our solicitor 30€ to obtain for us back.
