Personally, in my opinion, I do not believe that would be a justified reason. After all, you have the choice to stay in a hotel and avoid breaking the curfew. Also it’s not as if your appointment is urgent, i.e. the following day.

Hi

Firstly I did not not realise that hotels were open secondly I think it is a good reason to travel as are home in uk as been sold all are furniture and belongings have already been shipped to Spain and now in our property and that was the earliest appointment for padron we could get also as far as driving down through Spain I think it would be safer for ourselves and other people if we did it in one journey and we stayed in our car but obviously everybody has different opinions on this

Thanks

Hi, Sorry, I hope you didn’t take my response as a criticism, it wasn’t intended as such. I was just answering your question and giving MY opinion as to whether the Guardia would would see it as justified. Personally, I agree with you, it would be safer to drive straight through without stopping, but you would be breaking the curfew.

One of the reasons I believe they may not see it as justified is due to some of the reasons for fines I have been reading about. As an example recently a man travelled to Alicante railway station to pick up his son arriving on a 10.30 pm train. The train was delayed and didn’t arrive until 1.30 am. They were stopped and fined by the Guardia, they didn’t believe it was a justified reason. I think it may come down to how an officer interepts the rules. You could try asking the question on the N332 Facebook page where an actual police officer could reply.

Good luck with your journey and move.
