Hello all

My name is Sara and I am seriously considering moving to Benidorm.

I will be coming as a single lady.

My plan is to purchase a static mobile home on a park where the whole of the community is involved.

My questions are;

  • What is the best area to stay to visit estate agents that deal with statics?
  • Do estate agents deal with statics or do you have to actually go to park you like?

I have an abundance of questions but I am taking it one step at a time, first get to Benidorm then visit properties for sale.

Thank you whoever has taken the time to read this.

Any info gratefully received.

Sara

Hi Sara,

the first thing you need to look at is your eligibility. The criteria are now much stricter since Brexit and you need to have a pretty good income and/or savings.

Before you arrange anything have a look at the Spain Tips and Guides on this site, also the Citizens Advice Bureau Spain may help and, if you drive, the N332 website deals with anything to do with driving in Spain and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code.

Hi Sarah,

I live in Benidorm so I might be able to help (a little)

The estate agents do not deal with the lettings of caravans, you will need to visit the sites. Caravans can be as expensive for annual ground rent as a 2 bedroom apartment.

As mentioned, you need to look at the financial and healthcare requirements needed to be able to move to Spain.

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

I have googled requirements for Spanish residency and it looks pretty straightforward?

I will be selling my property in England, so the plan is to buy somewhere in Benidorm and hopefully have enough left to live on.

I will take a look at the Spain Tips and Guides

Make sure you are looking at the post-brexit requirements. You need to be able to demonstrate income of roughly €30000 a year and private healthcare.

Hello Sara

Im sending you a link to read regarding residency in Spain 2021, in case  you havent read it.

  • Complete guide to residency in Spain 2021
  • The criteria now is nowhere near as straightforward as it used to be before the end of 2020. It's much more expensive regarding bank finances, monthlyearnings , funding your own healthcare  etc. You start by contacting the Spanish Embassy in Uk (when they reopen), they will advise you what visa you need to apply for ( whether you need to work etc)  & how to begin the process. Until then you can only visit for up to 90 days out of a rolling 180 days, as a tourist, as & when travel r.estrictions allow
  • Hope you found some information helpful in the guide
  • Cheers
  • Elinspain

Hi elinspain

Thank you, I shall give it a read.

I will be coming with hopefully a healthy bank account, I will not have employment but will be coming with several skills, do you think this would work or do you need to have employment before entering?

Best wishes

Sara

Employment is difficult to come by, especially if you don’t speak Spanish.   Even Spanish people have difficulty, and the pay is not very good.   I don’t mean to be negative but it is not easy now, since the U.K. left the E.U., to become a Spanish resident.

I'm not really sure I would need to work.

I was hoping that I could live off my savings.

Would this be a reason to reject application for residency?

Cheers

Sara
