Hi We used to live in lanzarote. My hubby brought his van over here to spain with the tax being alot more he had to pay it here which wasn't cheap. The tax is less on the canary islands so not sure if you will have to pay anything. But you will have to change the address on the car For the tax on the car and incase you get any speeding fines.

Hope this helps

I bought a car on Tenerife and relocated it to Costa Blanca.

The ITV and Permissio de Circulation were both OK. But (of course) I had to re-register to my name/address.

But, as Tenerife is a no-VAT zone, I had to pay "import tax" on the cadastral value - I had to pay the VAT (IVA).

So, I don't think you will have any problems going the other way. Other than a "change of address", the car will be legal.

I doubt you could claim the VAT back .... but you could try !

Both lovely places but adeje town is all Canarians, costs adeje is more practical with everythin walking distance. I lived in all places, i personally prefer los cristianos because its a mixture of everthing, the office you will need to change your paperwork is also right in the center very easy to find.

Adeje is absolutely beautiful and since you're a car transport shouldnt be a problem but tenerife is a very social place, its easier to be in los cris and go for drink and walk home with no problems, although taxis are pretty much 5euro maximum for where ever you want to go. In tenerife you also get flight discounts, and excursion discounts and drink discounts for being a resident. I still know alot of people there so if you need anything just ask
