Not really a surprise though, as it had been mooted for days that it was going to happen.

Even the government website was changed shortly after the mid afternoon announcement and that normally takes hours to show any changes.

Hi Sue,

The change to requirements was published on Gov.UK yesterday, Saturday 4 December at 8.11pm:

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19#changes-to-pre-departure-testing-from-4am-tuesday-7-december-2021

I feel sorry for people travelling on Tuesday - they effectively have only tomorrow to get their test 🤔

Have a good trip.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hello Kim and thank for the information.

Yes.... I'm am struggling to get one for Wednesday.  I've ended up booking at the airport the day before.

I called them this morning and they told me results would be anything up to 12 hours so I have to make an extra trip to have it done.  There are 2 centers in the next town to me that do them but 2 red days are a problem because they might be closed and can't call them until the morning.

Sue 😘

Lynn you must have a crystal ball  ,because I certainly was not expecting the 48 hour  tests coming back for entry into UK ,they brought back the 2 day PCR tests after entry ,but was not expecting this ,I do remember however the slimy lying toad Boris Johnson saying earlier this year that decisions for opening up should be irreversible and no going back ,once again people have their plans up in the air ,but he will care not a jot as long as he can host his xmas party at Downing street for the rest of his slimy friends and cabinet

No crystal ball at all, it’s the Labour Party who put pressure on Boris to reintroduce the pre departure tests. They have been “discussing” it all week.

Although the Labour Party wanted PCR pre departure tests, looks as though Boris has met them half
