Cutting Down Pine Trees
Helpful member
I have some pine trees in my garden that have now grown way past the overhead power cables, and I am concerned that in high winds the line may be bought down. I have bern to the Iberdrola office, and they said they will send a technician out to see the trees in question. All good there then.
I have been to the Town Hall to enquire as to permission needed to have other trees cut down. I saw the Local Police officer that is on the reception. I explained to him what I wanted (i wrote it out in Spanish on my phone). He went behind the desk and made a call to someone in the Town Hall
Call ended, he told me that as the trees were on my property, I could cut them down without any problem. Nothing was given in writing and I do not know who the officer spoke to on the phone.
But now, after reading many posts on the CB forums and FaceBook about the protection offered to pine trees in Crevillente, I am a little doubtful of what I was told. I really don't want to have them cut down and then find I needed something in writing to allow this, and so could face a hefty fine for not having this permission in writing.
Is there a particular person or department in the Town Hall that I should talk to directly? I have a tree surgeon coming on Tuesday to look at my trees and give me his advice on having them removed.
Maybe I am over worrying about this, but I would like to be certain. Thanks in advance for your replies.
