Hi Urmi
We are in almost same situation, only difference is we currently get all our medicines over the counter and paying for it. We have some prescriptions from the UK, still in date, just!
I spoke to the pharmacist in the L'Aljub centre, who explained to me we could be eligible for a provisional SIP card, which must be applied for with the INSS office. She said to get an appointment so we can explain the situation and subsequently, if not on same occasion, produce the necessary documents. She even offered to help me with translation once I'm in the INSS office, which is very kind. She speaks excellent English.
We have been lucky to be able to obtain our medicines over the counter so far in various places but the lady said such purchases have been tightened now, especially due to Covid. In that particular pharmacy, they even want to see a prescription for Ibuprofen (!), which she explained, is to not risk a €30,000 fine, if they're found out!
Today though, I managed to get my thyroxine at a pharmacy in Crevillent, even though it was exact same stuff the L'Aljub lady didn't want to sell me. In Spain, it depends on who you ask, which I'm sure you know by now!
I will also send you a private message.
