Good Morning

Firstly, we know the process involved in applying for a Padron at the town hall. We have a slight  issue though as our friend is currently letting us use their place for free for the year (the length of the visa). We do not have a rental contract and our friend is unsure of where their deeds are. We have stayed in the past for a couple of months and he has been a friend for many years. Has anyone else had a similar issue and was there ways to obtain a Padron with other documents?

The deeds would be absolutely no use to you as they are surely in your friend, the owners name?

I found the following on the Internet and have provided the weblink at the end. Perhaps your friend could write a letter noting that you are living in their property rent free? Or, better still  accompany you to the relevant Town Hall and explain the circumstances?

'In case you are renting in the property where you live and the owner cannot accompany you to register, take note, they will have to fill out a form authorizing you to register at their property.

What to do in cases where I can’t prove I have a fixed abode or I don’t have a fixed abode? Then you must apply for resident registration without a fixed address, and you can find all the details here.'
