Barclays have just written to us to close our current account which means we will lose our ability to use our debit card in the uk when we visit. We don’t have a uk address.
Our first search reveals online companies called Wise or Starling. Has anyone heard of them or dealt with them. Thanks Vanessa
Both, mainly Wise, get multiple good reviews on the forum.

I have had a Wise account for 8 years.
You will find many posters on this forum have changed over to the Wise account.
They are absolutely trustworthy and honest. I fully recommend Wise.

I have both Wise and Starling and both are excellent but in your case Wise is your best option as you need to have a UK address for a Starling account.
Wise will issue you with a debit card to be used in the same way as your Barclays card for purchases etc.
The one weakness with the Wise account is the limits for ATM withdrawals, I can't remember them exactly but it is something like 2 free withdrawals per month and up to €300. I know this isn't the exact figures but I am just trying to highlight the one thing that limits a Wise account, if you don't need much cash then I thoroughly recommend Wise.
Incidentally, Wise can also pay your direct debits, worth considering if your Spanish bank has hefty monthly charges.
