Bus pass
What is the situation regarding the bus pass? Is the old one still accepted. Thank you
Hello
Karen your bus pass/citizens card is due for renewal every year. There isn't a date on the card...., but I do see people on the buses asked to pay, because their card has expired also the transport office update their details . Their office is now inside the indoor fruit/veg market La Plasa in Torrevieja
Its very quiet right now, dont think you will need an appt
Cheers

How to obtain and renew the Citizen Card for the bus pass.
Location, The public transport office located inside the building of La Plasa Mercado Central Torrevieja from 8.30am to 13.30pm Monday to Friday.
Requirements, To be registered (Padron) in Torrevieja and have no debt to the local administration.
Fee, 7 Euro, Renewal annually at Zero cost.
Documentation Required, I.D, N.I.E, Residence Card, Passport, all original, not copies.
On my first visit = Thursday, I queued up for 15 minutes, I was called into the office and in broken Spanish I asked if I could apply for the Bus Pass, The gentleman behind the desk understood what I had said and asked me for my Padron to which he scrutinised and copied, on giving me back my Padron he also gave me a bank payment requirement forms to go to the local banks stipulated on the form to make my payment of 7 Euro and then gave me a appointment to return the next day. I went to the bank and paid the 7 Euro in cash and was given a stamped receipt of the payment I had made.
At the appointment time the next day = Friday, my payment and I.D was scrutinised, all was well and in place, I was then asked to sit and have my photograph taken and minutes later I was given my new Citizen Card photo I.D card.

I’ve just checked my bus pass and there’s no date on it. Been using it frequently for four years - Elche area.
