I stumbled across this spider when doing garden work yesterday. I say stumbled, it caught my eye as it moved out of the grass because of its sheer size! (For the purpose of scale, the mortar between the block is about an inch wide!)

I didn't bother to ask if it was poisonous and I had a strimmer in my hand (not a euphemism!) so I figured I outgunned it!

I let it scurry off rather than kill it, I prefer not to kill things (apart from the occasional song in the shower!)

Any ideas what species, tribe, planet it came from?!!!

Thanks in advance

Yes. That's a "biggy". Can't help much, except. 1. Planet Earth & 2. Your garden. You can keep him!👍

Not my garden thank goodness!

Although, that said, I could always buy a saddle and charge 1€ per ride !!!

I think it may be a Mediterranean Tarantula carrying her eggs on her back.

UKHandyMan4Hire,

You should have had no fear of it

You only had to tell it to move along.

How would you do that you may ask ?

The answer is simple, grab your smart phone and communicate with it over the world wide Web 😄

LeckyLes.
