Hi Margaret

We are new to Aspe and bought a property few months ago. We are still working in the UK so going back and forth few times.

Just come back having spent  Xmas at Aspe:)

We are also learning Spanish but over Skype. This saves time, although it cannot be the same as attending a group class!!

Hope you have found a house to rent by now.

If you'd like to meet up next time we re in Aspe please let us know.

Best wishes and happy new year,

Margaret 11

Hello, thankyou for your response. Yes, I have found a house to rent and will be moving to Spain in a couple of weeks.

It is a coutry house, which is what I prefer and only 20 mins walk into Aspe, so I am all geared up for my adventures.

I am hoping to host a lunch when I get settled, by way of thanking all the lovely locals who have been tremendously helpful during my search.

So was hoping you might like to join me,Hope to hear from you.

Kind regards and happy new year

Hi D

This is my initial impression of the town: Aspe is a lovely town, it has best of both worlds. It is quiet peaceful especially in the countryside but at the same time you are just around 8 km from city Elche which has all the retail parks, Carrefour, Leroy Merlin etc,

In Aspe itself there is Aldi, Mercadona and few other supermarkets. It has a lovely Sports centre with  fantastic indoor /outdoor pools and a cafe which serves good food. The local markets are on Tues & Thurs and there are  lots of local cafes/bars. There are expatriates- British/Dutch/German etc  and the local people are friendly. There is a lot to do e.g. walking, cycling & interesting wine routes etc, often you see cyclists in Aspe as the area is mostly flat.  I am sure there are some walking and activity groups  as well, but I have not explored them yet. Others who have been in Aspe longer may be aware of them. Airport is around 20-25 min and same for the coast.

Good luck with your house search & the move:)  If you need any more info. happy to help!
