I am enquiring for a friend, who is thinking of moving to this area,as to whether there is a day care centre. My friend looks after her husband 24/7,but needs a break a couple of times a week. Her husband has vascular dementia. Can anybody help please?

You may be better to ask in the local Centro de Salud, who may be able to direct you to social services. However, if available it is very likely to be staffed and run by Spanish staff, not catering for English residents. It may be worth contacting the Care agencies who deal with the foreign population, they may have someone qualified who could provide care at home. There is an agency called 3C who are run by English people.

Good advice Stephanie.

When my neighbour was recovering from a hip operation she used 3C.
