Large Dentist Bill!

Hi there,

We are new to Spain and arrived 2 weeks ago. Today my husband experienced some pain in his gum so I took him to a dentist in the centre of Jalon which we saw as we drove past it. It is 'Clinica Dental' in central Jalon. To our horror we were told he needs 600 euros of work done. These are the figures:

Oral Cleaning 40 euros

Gum treatment 70x2 = 140 euros

Root canal treatment 120 euros

Filling 50 euros

Discharge splint 250 euros.

We let them pencil in 4 more appointments which they say are 'urgent'. However we are going to take him to a different dentist in Pego tommorrow (recommended by a local lady) for a second oppinion.

Does any one know whether the prices above are average? And does any one have experience of Clinica Dental in central Jalon?

The cleaning and filling prices look correct, but I have no experience of the others.

Just an update - we took my husband to a well qualified dentist with excellent reviews, who told him that his teeth were fine and he didn't need any of that work done!
