Hi there,

I did post a couple of weeks ago stating that my wife and I were looking for a quiet place to stay in old Benidorm, we are not looking for a high rise hotel just somewhere with a small balcony in the old town near Tapas Alley. We are happy with self catering, somewhere to stay to celebrate over 50 years together and also a special birthday for my wonderful wife.

Any help would be most appreciated in finding that special place so we can make it a holiday to remember.

My very best regards,

David

The old town around tapas alley can be quite noisy especially late night when the Spanish come out to play  and most accommodation in Benidorm is high rise. So in the old town there’s a fair chance that your balcony will just overlook a busy street.

I’ve just had a quick look on booking.com and yes I know that’s not what you asked, but just to see what’s available in the old town.

These apartments according to booking.com are on a quiet street. They are ideally situated for tapas alley, but the only time I’ve seen that little square quiet is before midday.even then there’s a steady flow of delivery vehicles and bin lorries of a morning.

In order to help more, how far away from tapas alley do you want to be  (in walking time)?

By quiet , do you mean away from noisy pool areas or noisy bars or away from traffic?

Presumably you won’t  have a hire car, so you won’t need parking.

If it’s just the two of you, perhaps an adults only hotel could be an option. There are also a couple of beachfront hotels on Levante beach, you’ve got a lovely beachfront to walk along but you are a few roads away from the nightlife on the strip.

My favourite hotel is Medplaya Agir Springs on med ave, it’s adults only and close enough for old an new town, Milord suites may tick the boxes if you got a room facing the beach

Hi there Lynn

Thanks for all the info, when I mean quiet I mean away from the rowdy nightlife, stag and hen parties. Happy to stay near Aguila Park, would love to find a family run bed and.breakfast.or self catering .Not really bothered about a pool.as I think.it might still be a little chilly for a swim.

I guess you mean L’Aigüera Park, the park that’s uphill from the old town, where they hold the fiestas, concerts and theatre productions.  Depending on when you plan to visit , you could possibly find all night parties  going on in the park, as that’s what the Spanish like to do.! A small family run B&B  in Benidorm is rather like looking for a needle in a haystack as I mentioned in my earlier post. In fact the only B&B I could find didn’t have an en-suite! The vision of Benidorm was to get as many hotels in as small area as possible, so that’s why you have high rise everywhere, but it’s part of the character of the resort.

Try searching for “guest houses”, you may find a handful of them , but they will be situated above shops and restaurants etc. Self catering apartments above the shops in the old town area are probably in a building that’s only 6-8 storeys high.

Have a look on Airbnb, but once you’ve paid cleaning charges and service fees, you’d probably find a cheaper 4 star hotel.

The places mentioned before by Lefty are excellent suggestions

Or maybe think about staying in the quieter Poniente Beach area -somewhere like Port Fiesta Park it’s well away from the nightlife  10 minute walk to the beach and 15 walk to the busy Old Town area.

Good luck in your search.
