I can't say that I've seen many cats recently in Benidorm. There used to be a community of strays on that green area near  Tiki beach but the authorities collected them up and spayed them etc. They all disappeared afterwards. Not seen any cats near the hotel next to our apartments either.

You will probably never see a cat in the areas you will be going.

I had the same with British people but over came it by staying away from areas, bars, restaurants they frequent.

Have you ever tried professional help for this?

Every morning old people go out and feed the "wild" cats everyday, around every apartment block in Benidorm..  the lady that does it on C/Bruselas knows it's illegal but does it anyway.

Cats are more nocturnal so unless you are stumbling home loudly from the bar after midnight you will not see many; unless they are in a pushchair being pushed around (seen it).

Remember, they are more afraid of you than them...😀

Rubbish!!

Nobody in my apartment block feeds any cats on the street. I've never seen a cat at all in this area. By the way I love cats and hate dogs that crap everywhere!!

Hi jo

I have the same phobia-ending up having a panic attack and crying in the middle of a restaurant in turkey as a cat had came in and brushed past my leg-haven’t been back in turkey since due to the sheer volume of stray cats (and the embarrassment lol).

I’ve stayed in Benidorm at least 20 times and never had an issue with cats. The only place I have ever seen cats was in the park in the middle of benidorm( not sure if it’s name but set far back with windy path downhill towards beach).

Avoid that and I promise you will be fine-enjoy your holiday!

Hello

Its not always illegal to feed the feral cats, they are only different because they have never been handled or domesticated. I am registered to feed some cats  close to wear I live,  with the  Councillor for Animals at the Ayunmaniento, (that includes street cats).... I also  have a certificatie.

Cheers
