Hi great website you run. We been visiting Beni now 50 times and love it. We are animal lovers esp cats. We are looking to work alongside a animal charity to help get as many bar / hotel / street cats neutered or spayed. We are concerned on a few areas where the cats are expanding. We have spoke with owners and they are willing to let us catch neuter and release back as it does attract children into the bars. We need a good person or charity with transport and a good vet. We would pay all costs involved its just finding the right people. We could meet up and go from here. It is a very longterm project as we would get the friendly ones 1st then use a humane trap to then focus on ferrals. If anyone can reccomend a charity or person we can work with this would be much appreciated. As we would love to do something positive. We did this in Turkey and the local council used to work with us. They gave a room at there local council depot. They supplied a vet and they paid all costs to the vet which saved them looking after the populations of street dogs and cats. We managed to neuter and spay over 1000 dogs and cats and all where tagged and released. They also supplied certain areas where they built feeding stations for them. Thanks for reading. Davy

Hi,

You don't mention if you've contacted the town hall as they are given money for the TNR programme for the street cats. This would be a good place to start and will help you understand where the colonies are andxtoctry and meet and work with the volunteers who feed them as they would be very knowledgeable about a lot of the cats.

Well done for wanting  to help with this dire situation  :-)

Your first point of contact should be the mayor.. Then the local veterinarians - they will have the lowdown on the situation there.

Hello

I think the Councillor for Animals inc. street cats at the Town Hall is the way to go.

It is in Torrevieja as I am a registered feeder for our  local colony who are all neutered and well fed &  cared for.

Cheers
