Evening all, I’m after a bit of travel information, we are coming over to Benidorm next week and would like to visit Villajoyosa as it is a place I have never been, I intend to catch the bus but not sure which bus and more importantly where is the best place to get off the bus, after researching, the promenade is mentioned a lot and the old town also, I know there are are bars and tapas, is there much in the way of shops in Villajoyosa for my wife?

Does anyone in Benidorm know the best number bus to catch and which stop would be the best to get off?

Thanks very much 😁

I think you will have to catch an Alsa bus from Avenida Europa Benidorm or the tram. The blue Lorrente buses don't go there.

Hello Lefty

Just remember the lots of the shops will close at 2pm until about 5pm,  (not dept stores) so get your timings right if your wife wants to shop ha!

When I get the bus from La Mata to Alicante,  I always have to remember this & leave home early

Cheers

Thank you for that, are there many shops there or a shopping centre/mall?

Villajoyosa is not widely considered to be a shopping zone.

Any time I go to Villajoyosa I usually take the tram. It's dead cheap and very regular too.

Just an update for anyone looking at this post in the future, I’ve been to Villajoyosa today, I caught the number 1 bus from Ave Mediterraneo to Benidorm tram station, we were going to walk up through Parc de L'Aigüera but my knees were really hurting today (I keep putting off getting a walking stick) the whole process of buying tickets was really easy and I even did it all in Spanish so it was good practice 😊 we caught the tram on Linea 1 to Villajoysa, all the stops are announced and displayed on electronic boards on the tram so you can’t go wrong, returning as we had walked along the beach front after lunch we were able to catch the tram at the next station along called Creuta, the platform was clearly marked which way back to Benidorm so you can’t go wrong, overall it was a really cheap, easy and pleasant day out 👍
