Hi Everyone

I am travelling out to Benidorm with Jet2 in a few weeks time and was just wondering what peoples experiences are with regards to wait times, processing of documentation and really just what to expect in these  crazy times.

thank you in advance

Hi,

We travelled to Alicante from Glasgow at end of July for 3 weeks with Easyjet.  Glasgow airport was not busy and as we had paid for speedy boarding and had no checked luggage we went straight through security to the departure lounge. At the gate immediately prior to boarding, they checked our boarding passes and our Covid vaccination status certificates.

On arrival at Alicante airport, we scanned our passports at passport control, then proceeded to the manned police kiosk to have our passports stamped for the 90-day rule. We then headed straight to luggage reclaim where there was a manned desk and had our Spanish locator form   ( QR code ) scanned, and then straight out the airport with no problems.

The return journey was a bit different. Arrived at Alicante airport and almost immediately after entering the airport was asked to show boarding pass before being allowed to proceed further. Through to security and all ok. Proceeded to the departure gate and again scanned our passports and onto the manned Police kiosk to have our departure date stamped on our passports. Prior to boarding at the boarding gate all our documentation was checked. Passport, boarding pass, Scotttish Covid vaccination status certificate, Spanish covid test certificate with negative result, British locator form checked for pre booked day 2 arrival covid PCR test. As we had speedy boarding we were at the front of the queue so our experience was very good but have to say the staff were very good.

Be prepared is best advice.

We are hoping to fly again beginning October so hoping goes as smoothly.

Good luck.

Our friends flew from Glasgow a few weeks ago and had no problems at all, they printed the Spanish health form and they have their proof of vaccination. They are due to return on the 25th September, as it stands ahead of Grant Shapps announcing changes to the travel requirements they will need to complete a passenger locator form 48 hours before departure, pre-departure test 72 hours before flight and order their PCR day 2 test.

Hopefully some of these requirements change soon.

I'm going back to the UK to visit my family on Monday with Jet2 just going to get my pre-departure test and will complete my passenger locator form tomorrow.
