We (mrs benisnowbird, the dog & I) spend from late Sept/early October until April each year along the Costa Blanca/Costa del sol area in our motorhome and do spend extended time in and around the Benidorm area.... we’ve been doing it for years. I’m a little older than you (53) and sold up...

... my business when I was in my late 40’s and haven’t looked back. One life, live it.

We have ferry booked for early October this year and ‘playing it by ear’ at the moment, but if we can travel we will be there. Motorhome life is easy in Spain with many services and sites if you need them.

We carry a motorcycle with us and use it extensively when parked up, it’s an ideal solution. Hopefully see you there this year and if not then sometime during 2021.

Really does sound like a great life, good luck to you! Must add too, your posts are always read with respect and make a lot of sence

It is a fabulous life, we used to live at Marjal Costa Blanca a huge 5☆ camp site, we used to travel all over Europe in July and August and odd weeks in Spain down the coast. We have bought a villa now and we did intend to go to Austria this year but we can do it next year. I understand how you love it so much, different place, new friends and old friends, time will go and things will get better then youll start living the dream again x

Yes, we enjoy it immensely, thank you all.

In the process of building a house close to Benidorm (Albir) but that won’t be ready for possibly another 3 years due to design/planning and eventual build. I foresee us leaving the motorhome out there as we do not use it at home that much and we would use the house as a base to travel from and also for our kids (grown now) to use.

We came home early this year as we were watching the news and following how this Covid-19 thing was developing. We drove up through France in mid March catching a ferry from Cherbourg back home. So glad we did. We are in contact with quite a few British folk who are still in Spain in motorhomes, some have came home as they are allowed to travel to get back to their country of residence. Some are still there in lockdown.

I cannot foresee Benidorm (or other ‘touristy’ areas) being the same as it was, it will certainly be a different ‘normal’.

It will be lovely when your out here, it's a lovely Country to live in. We have a villa and it's so peaceful and quiet but we will still use the motorhome,  we call it Herby the Hymer, with Mike the bike and Berty the boat, (it's a kayak really) but we have a dog so it will clip our wings a bit

Oh ok that’s good to know. I like to go now and then for the atmosphere but suppose it will be a bit different now. Thank you and I hope to be back in my house in Spain very soon 🤞🏻

Hola

Just read the comments on this post - this is my dream too - I happily lived in a small campervan in the Outer Hebs for a month so Spain we pose no prob - my Dad moved to live in a static in Benidorm and loves it - great lifestyle! and was 79 when he moved so you are a spring chicken! 😀- campsite life is great - I would suggest doing that first before taking the plunge and buying something - think you will be ok driving down through France and self quarantining for you in a van would be fine - just have lots of provisions and water on board. I would make the move as soon as rules allow to register for residency pre the B word! - enjoy - I admit I am a tedny weeny bit jealous! ☺
