Can anyone recommend car hire excess annual insurance.I am arriving in Alicante airport and would like to hire a rental car for 1 week. Can someone also recommend car hire company please? Thank you in advance
I doubt you'll find anybody doing it by the week and even if you did it would probably work out more expensive than taking the hire companies full insurance.

They're looking for an annual excess policy and car hire for a week, not an excess policy for a week. 😉

We use "Questor" for our annual excess insurance, £41.99 per year.
We always hired with Goldcar and never had an issue although we check the car carefully and report any damage before leaving the carpark.

I also use Questor. I have made two claims (which I still argue were dubious on the part of the hire company) in four years and they were really efficient in sorting the claims. They certainly asked fewer questions than I did!
I always say you don’t know how good an insurance company is until you need them - so I can confirm they are good.
It’s hard to recommend a car hire company as there is always someone who’s had a bad experience. I won’t touch RecordGo but others will say they’re great. I’ve always been happy with Firefly but they can be expensive in the summer. I’ve also had positive experiences with OK and Wieber.

That's good to know about Quester Shayden. We've had a policy for 4 years and never claimed. I've always wondered if they would be any good in the event of a claim.
Car hire prices seem to have gone up quite a bit since pre pandemic.

Hello baz52 Will inquire lara cars.I like the idea of pay cash as long as they do not block any credit cards.Drivalia also does cash basis all in but they have put up their prices by a lot for the month of july /august.drivalia gives you a full tank and they expect it full tank on return. Is lara cars the same on fuel?.Thanks for the info

I use icarhire too and they were excellent when i made a clsim. It's about £42 a year.
