I think give it a year or so and Spain will relax this to 180 and 90. Well let’s hope so

Not going to happen, especially with new electronic visa regulations coming.

Moan at the hypocritical supporters of Brexit who have kept the freedom of movement they worked so hard to remove from the rest of us. They have handy EU passports. A few for starters- Aaron Banks, Kate Hoey, Gisela Stuart, Daniel Hannan, Daniel Kacwizinski, Marc Francois, all the members of the ...

...DUP, Michael Gove, Nadine Dorries, Esther McVey. Oh, and Michael Farage's kids.

Michael Farage?  Que?

Good on You AJ.  with all those rules, bureaucracy, taxes and wow...massive fines for nothing....maybe I'll join you.

Lets face-it, if Spain did not have such super weather... Brits would not be here.... such a backward country. If I had known then... what I know now, I would never have bought a property in Spain.

His children. Their mother is German. Apparently Farage tried to get a German passport on the basis of their marriage, but was knocked back by the German Government on account of being divorced now.

And the EU decide on which regulations they will abide by so it is possible the timescale for UK owners may increase .I hope so as it is unfair on them .Personally I think the EU are a shower and the UK government also . And yes I am one of the enemy,I live in Spain and voted to leave the EU but I did it for my children and grandchildren that they could have a democratic choice of whom is in charge and that the UK could deal with its own affairs .I realised it would mean hardships for people who live over here and I have seen many who were living under the radar complaining that they have to have a Spanish driving licence and become residents etc ,Oh the horror of it all !, well tough get on with it ,so what if you have to pay more tax . Thats the way it goes and the way the EU has treated the UK says it all and reinforces my decision . Im now digging in to stand by for the flack but I dont care.

If they change it for the islanders, then they will have to change it for the Americans, Canadians, Russians, etc.. Do not get your hopes up.

As to the Original Poster, keep your money in the UK - the island needs it more than Spain.

 Build a better Britian.

Make Britian GREAT Again.

Not sure you will find many on here that voted for Brexit, PS, well said tebo53.

Well I voted for Brexit,  well I've had 20% payrise due to lack off staff , now is that due to Brexit or pandemic,  ive seen no benefits yet ! And I was passionate about leaving,  think since the Russian war , I've realized perhaps we are better in than out . I was also a right wing tory voter,  WAS!

Unfortunately Spain cannot unilaterally reverse Brexit. The effect of Brexit is that the UK is outside the EU and this means that its citizens can no longer benefit from free movement and have to abide by the same rules as citizens of other non-eu countries, who may also own property in Spain (or any of the other 26 nations) and pay their bills accordingly.

As a family we sat together in 2016,4x grandparents all over 80,10x sons, daughters in laws etc and 6x grandchildren old enough to vote.It was lively and passionate but the older people all voted to leave and their overwhelmingly main reason was they don’t like foreigners!!! Took some coaxing out but that was it.Everyone else was overwhelmingly in favour of staying in the EU with career opportunities and all the other benefits of membership. What continues to annoy me is the decision was made for such a stupid reason and affecting young people’s future. One of the four has since died and has not experienced the shambles that the UK is becoming due to brexit. So I will continue to point out at any opportunity the folly of believing in brexit as a force for positive change.
