hello
is there any truth to some of the rumours i have heard that spain may allow brits to retain british passports whilst also getting a spanish passport?

To the best of my knowledge, Spain does not recognise dual citizenship. The procedure for obtaining Spanish citizenship isn’t easy; requires 10 years’ residency plus proficiency in the language, history and so forth. I do know people going through it currently and it seems to be fairly complex.

I agree 100% with Stephanie, but I've also read reports of people taking out citizenship not having their British passports taken off them.

norway has just recently allowed dual citizenship so hopefully spain may follow
