Hi Johnnie, You won't be able to get work until you are a fully legal resident here in Benidorm. Any work available must by law be offered firstly to an EU citizen.

Have you applied for a visa from the Spanish embassy in the UK to be able to live here in Benidorm?

There are still hundreds of people on the dole who were made redundant from the hospitality sector. They are likely to have their names on numerous waiting lists for bar and restaurant work.

Best of luck.

Steve

Hi Jonnie

If you are Irish or other EU national you can move to Spain and apply for residency once in Spain under the Spanish rules for other EU nationals.  If not an EU national then you must first apply for a Visa to move to Spain.

If you are British, have you applied for your NLV via the Spanish Consulate in the UK?  These links may help you

For someone who says that he will be looking for work the Non-Lucrative Visa isn't appropriate as it would prohibit him from working in Spain for at least his first 5 years.

One of the links supplied covers different types of visas, not just nlv. It is possible to apply to change status once resident. Would not be able apply under a work visa unless already had job offer.

Anyway, he has confirmed he is Irish so not relevant.

I think that it was a different poster who said that he was Irish. Not the OP.
