Hi guys any tips for a man travelling to benidorm on his own,due to a relationship breakdown and a holiday paid for, flying out of. 30/08/2025 and staying at flamingo beach resort, finding it really daunting doing this trip on my own but I know after an 11 year relationship I need to build my confidence and self esteem again,so any tips anyone could give me on doing this alone would be much appreciated.

Yours gratefully

Darren

Just enjoy yourself, but be careful of getting robbed their a lot of people that will take advantage. Every body is friendly sometimes a bit too friendly.

Hi Darren,

Overall,  Benidorm is a safe and friendly place for holidaymakers. There are a thousand places to go and meet people of any (adult) age. (You don't say how old you are which would be easier to recommend places)

It's easier to chat to people in the smaller expat type bars as the big nightclubs etc are packed with couples, hens and stag groups who won't want an " outsider" joining in. Keep your wits about you and don't get Rolling drunk as you then become a magnet for pickpockets. Keep valuables safe (or leave at your hotel room) and don't put your phone in your back pocket!

Enjoy your time here in Benidorm, its great weather, beaches and entertainment.

Steve

If you are in a resort, it is a good starting point. When I went on my own, I didn't have problem to have a short conversation at meal times, I went on organised excursions... You get familiar with people around you and possibly make friends. I find it more difficult to walk in a bar and start talking to people.

Just smile, talk to people, ask questions  and enjoy your holidays. 🍀

Hi Darren,

I can't suggest anywhere in the old town that has tribute acts like the new town area provides. I'm 72 and live and love the new town area as its lively and friendly especially in the expat bars. I'm sure you will enjoy Benidorm wherever you end up.

I am 86 years old and having lost my wife of 45 years I was at a loose end. Finally i decided to travel alone and have not looked back since. I noticed that you have had replies from "tebo 53" smashing bloke and if you want to meet him and his wife they go

to the saxa bar in calle londres every wed and fri at about 3-00pm. He is very informative and all the people who use the bar are

ex pats and very friendly. If and when you do meet him and his wife Jo give them my regardsand you go and enjoy yourself taking

the advice offered and you wont go far wrong.
