Having returned from Costa del sol today the passport control at Malaga was a disgrace it took two hours to get through and we would have missed out flight if tui has not have waited .This apparently has been going on for months . Our next holiday was to be Benidorm but if the same situation exists at Alicante we will not be going ,can anyone please advise on the latest situation at Alicante.
This is a recent post on a different subject but there seems to be no problem at Alicante and there have been no reports to the contrary.

I travelled from Alicante in March with no problems at all everything very well organised, wish I could have said the same about my return experience from Birmingham Airport, absolute chaos queues as far as the eye could see.
Thank you very much

Birmingham long queues for security at 5.30am, Edinburgh long queues and as always very hostile for some reason, Heathrow chaos, Alicante no problems ever - so far - 9 flights in/out since pandemic restrictions lifted.
Not sure why Malaga is a problem but it seems to be.

Hi I was in Alicante airport in March and there was a very long queue at Ryanair check-in desks (I normally take a cabin bag only).
However as we were beginning to worry about missing the flight we were called out of the queue and taken to the front- so made it ok.
I did not see any other queuing at the airport.
Hi,
I was in Benidorm 2 weeks ago and the whole travel experience was brilliant I flew from Liverpool to Alicante with Ryan air had no issues .
From Alicante back to Liverpool was also brilliant from getting out taxi at Alicante airport to going through security and in to duty free took around 20 minutes that was with hand luggage.

Nobody can tell what the future brings but with the amount of brits going thru Alicant aeroport and the need to stamp their passports, they seem to have it sorted.

Regarding flights from Alicante, if you have an early Flight out ( say 0655 as per our recent flight to Leeds Bradford ) , the Passport Control Police do not arrive at the Border Check kiosks until 0600 !! As a result, the queues waiting to get through to the Departure Gate are very long. It's necessary to arrive at the Airport really early, but even then, as a result of the above it is really tight on time. The information shown on the screens stated that last boarding was 0625 !!!!
