As a regular visitor I have noticed groups of people, I assume locals, who enjoy the entertainment and dancing in Benidorm hotels yet never seem to purchase a drink. Not wishing to sound ungracious or anything, it's Spain and the Spanish can do as they please within reason without any interference from tourists but just wondering why the staff never seem to challenge this.Doesn't seem quite fair on hotel guests who may miss out on a seat during busy periods.I wouldn't expect to enjoy a UK pub's live music act without buying a drink.
I was in palm beach hotel last week and took my granddaughter who’s 5 to the children show I bought a couple of drinks for all of us, three , and all the Spanish guests did not buy any drink they brought there own bottled water with them , as the night went in I was continually asked by serving waiters did I want more drinks, I told the m I didn’t and got a bit of a dirty look from them so the next time I was asked I told them to go and ask all the Spanish people who had no drinks did they want any , he never bothered me again 😂

The old town is lovely very spanish. I dont really like the new town. We all have an opinion about places but you really can not see all of benidorm in a week. You dont need to visit benidorm again but thousands of spanish people visit benidorm so they obviously like it there. Its not all brits.
I live in Benidorm and I frequent the Spanish bars regularly but this night in question it was brits being harassed to but drinks, without the brits this resort would disappear in months
I simply made an observation, in my experience locals come into hotels and enjoy the entertainment without buying a drink. One drink.Orange juice, water or coffee.I'm not talking about going on a bender.Admittedly I am not overly familiar with Spanish custom and lifestyle but to me it is the same everywhere the world over.Go into an establishment and take advantage of the facilities and entertainment then you'd be expected to buy a drink. That applies everywhere doesn't it ? Like I said,it's Spain and the Spanish will do as they please,no skin off my nose.I was just curious more than anything.

I do completely agree with you. I would never go into somewhere and not buy a drink.
