Seems nothing has changed in the "poorest" areas of Spain per income...

https://euroweeklynews.com/2022/05/24/alicante-lowest-income-in-spain/

the big areas for the Brits - Benidorm & Torrevieja are "top of the list"...

If you are UK passport holders you are retiring to Spain you will need to apply for a non-lucrative visa from the Spanish consulate in the UK.

For a couple you will need to have an income of around €34,000 per annum from pensions etc.

You will need full healthcare either by private or through the S1 healthcare scheme.

If your wife has an Irish passport she can move over to Spain but for her (and you) to stay longer than 90 days she will need to sign on the foreigners register within the first month of arrival otherwise she will also be limited to the 90 in 180 day visiting time.

Once your wife has registered on the foreigners register you can piggyback on her application as the spouse of an EU citizen.
