Are the water filters on sale in DIY stores any good. I have water delivered by tanker and held in a deposit. Would the filter system make in good and safe to drink.

Hi,

We have a three filter system straight after the mains supply comes on to the property. It is made up of:

Three housings (e.g. https://www.leroymerlin.es/fp/11008746/vaso-contenedor-1-con-filtro-de-sedimentos-bbagua)

each housing contains one off either: a water sediment filter; a carbon filter and a water softener filter.

These are supposed to be changed yearly but as our water supply also tops up the pool we change them every six months or so.

We find that our water supply to the taps is really excellent. But please note that many people are just as happy without any filtration system.

I'm also not sure if this type of system would be appropriate for water supplied via a deposit.

Anyway I hope this helps in some way.

Regards,

Bob

I would definitely use a UV system. A filter system I do not think kills bacteria..

Branch off and use unfiltered water for the toilet and clothes washing machine plus the garden, pool.
