I am writing to ask how Healthcare costs are covered in Benidorm for Ex Pat pensioners as I am looking to join you all later this year once my house sale and divorce is completed.

Start with  https://www.gov.uk/

If you are on Facebook the "Citizens Advice Bureau Spain" page is very informative. Also usually more accurate than opinions from people with misconceptions. May even be worth joining if you are not as there are local groups for most areas.

As a pensionista you should get health care once all the paperwork (such as S1 forms from Newcastle) is done. There is a charge for prescriptions based on income (most pay 10%). Everybody's circumstances are different though so do some homework first.

It depends on your area to some extent on the exact steps to take as with any paperwork in Spain.

Buena suerte

To Access healthcare ,it is free for pensioners, register with a Spanish GP ,go to indoor market ,ask for English speaking GP .to register you will need passport and your NI number and away you go
