Not surprised as most hotels in Benidorm are closed or closing until at least March 2021.

Also Jet 2 news. I feel for small business who have put their lives into bars etc.

Hi Steve

It’s all so very sad. It’s like one step forward, two steps back. I’m very much a cup half full person, but this really is testing optimism to the max. Like many on the forum, we’re retired and therefore the financial impact of COVID has, fortunately, not affected us unduly.

My BF still works and her husband has his own business. Because of the restrictions, he’s not been able to work for months. They’re well into their savings now but believe they’ve got enough be able to “ride it out”. What she does say is that their retirement plans are absolutely shot. There’ll be no chance of early retirement and she now feels, realistically, they could both be working until they’re 70. I’m guessing millions across the globe in much the same position. 🤪🥂

I agree totally that there is a lot of hidden devastation to people and their families due to this bloody virus. Peoples plans totally knackered therefore having to make lifestyle changes with not really any light at the end of tunnel yet. Future plans and savings gone!

Friends of mine with their own businesses had to diversify by taking anything just to get bill's paid and put food on the table.

Totally awful situation.
