Hi Alex, this is my first post as I just recently learned about the Benidorm Forum, it's great to speak to you, my wife and I have been coming to Benidorm for the last 25 years from Glasgow sometimes as many as 3 times each year, so I think it's safe to say we quite like it. We were due to fly out this morning and of course are gutted not to going now. I suspect you have been asked this 100 times already, but do you have any idea when we might be able to 're-book, thanks John.

Hi John,

Until last week, the Spanish government had been saying that the UK's infection rate had to improve before they would be allowed to travel to Spain.  However, PM Pedro Sanchez has now said that borders will reopen to EU and Schengen countries when Spain's State of Alarm ends on 21 June, and that this includes the UK.  So, assuming the UK government lifts the requirement for travellers to undertake 14 days quarantine when they return to the UK, I think this now becomes an economic decision for the airlines.  The UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office also needs to change their current advice for people not to undertake non-essential travel, as this may have some bearing on whether travel insurance companies will honour claims.

Kind regards,

Kim
