So. I booked for me and my Daughter for a fortnight in June. Flight arrives at 22.30. Hotel reception closes at 17.00. The hotel has my credit card details but says it won’t take any money from it as it wants it transferred. The deposit anyway. I’m up to my ears in emails so can’t read the fine print yet. BUT, is there anywhere near the airport we could crash for the night, or if we cab it into town would we find anywhere?

Alicante Airport?
If so, there should be no need to worry at this point.
Alicante city has dozens of hotels.
This is a nice bed and breakfast hotel and it is across the street from the famous Central Mercado.
https://www.eurostarshotels.com/eurostars-lucentum.html
A bus stop for the C6 airport bus (every 30 or 40 mins) from/to Alicante airport is across the street from hotel.
Tram to Benidorm is a few minutes walk away.
Lots of taxis nearby.

I’m still boxing with the apartment block. They have my credit card details but say they won’t take the deposit from it because of some EU directive. They haven given me a link to pay the deposit into and if I don’t do so within 24 hours the reservation is cancelled automatically. I’ve emailed them through booking.com requesting a 24.00 - 00.01 check in. So, Mexican stand off at the moment.. cheers!

Brilliant Maria! That gives me piece of mind. I don’t mind writing the first night off because the apartment set up works for us. We both get privacy, still have tv etc, and no need to book two rooms. Many thanks!
