Steve...There are bars and restaurants closing and going bankrupt by the day just now, surely you must realise that....and for that reason there are loads of chef's, cooks and bar workers out of work and on waiting lists for jobs as they happen.
You need to get your CV printed, get your walking boots on and do the rounds to any establishments that are open.
